Practical Magic 2 hits theaters on September 10.

Fans want to know if Practical Magic 3 is in the works.

Actress Sandra Bullock commented on the future of the Practical Magic franchise in an interview with Vanity Fair.

Practical Magic 2 is officially here—and fans already have questions about the future of the movie franchise.

Almost two decades after Practical Magic debuted in theaters, fans got reacquainted with Sally (Sandra Bullock) and Gillian Owens (Nicole Kidman) in the highly anticipated sequel. Viewers watched the sisters help the next generation of Owens women (portrayed by Joey King and Maisie Williams) navigate the family curse of partners dying after they fall in love.

Given how popular both movies have been, people are wondering if there will be a Practical Magic 3 at some point.

While there aren’t any official plans for Practical Magic 3, Sandra told Vanity Fair that the idea of another movie is on the table.

“We’ll do a number three if this takes off, and we’ll pass the torch to the girls,” she shared in an interview published on September 3.

Sandra also noted that fans will see the Owens family's story evolve with every Practical Magic movie.

“If you haven't seen the first film, it doesn’t matter,” she added. “But if you did see the first film, there are nostalgic reminders that we're still in the same place with the same people, and we're bringing on two more magical baby witches.”

Despite there being no confirmation of a third Practical Magic film, Deadline noted that another movie could take inspiration from Practical Magic author Alice Hoffman’s other books. Just as Practical Magic 2 is based on the 2021 novel The Book of Magic, another installment could draw on the prequel books The Rules of Magic (2017) and Magic Lessons (2020), which tell the history of the Owens family.
