America’s Got Talent aired its season 21 finale on September 23.
16-year-old singer Nene Royal surprised fans by being declared the winner of the NBC series.
Nene also revealed what’s next after winning AGT.
America’s Got Talent season 21 just ended, and it’s time to congratulate winner Nene Royal!
The latest installment wrapped up on September 23, and fans were ready to see which of the final five acts would be crowned the champion.
Judges Simon Cowell, Sofía Vergara, Mel B, and Howie Mandel delivered feedback week after week, but it was now up to viewers to decide who would be named the winner.
While Nene and magician Geno Ploeger were chosen as the last two acts standing, it was Nene who was crowned the winner of America’s Got Talent season 21.
“The moment you’ve all been waiting for. 🏆,” the caption read on Instagram with a video of the results being announced.
As soon as fans learned who won, they were all over social media celebrating the final result.
“Everyone knew from the very first performance that Nene was going to be the big winner,” one person exclaimed in the comments. “That’s our girl right there!” another declared. “It's the first season where I think most of the world knew who the winner was just from the audition! She is an incredibly special talent...LONG. LIVE. ROCK! And congrats @neneroyalmusic,” a different follower added.
Viewers may remember that Nene’s time on AGT began back in July, when the 16-year-old singer auditioned with an incredible rendition of The Cranberries’ 1994 hit “Zombie.” And given that it was the start of an incredible journey, it made sense that Nene would already have something lined up right after her win!
As Nene revealed on September 24, she’s set to open up for the rock band Avenged Sevenfold on October 13 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Singapore.
“The stage is about to get LOUDER as we welcome a very special guest…,” the caption read on Instagram. “Fresh off America’s Got Talent Season 21, NENE ROYAL is taking that winning energy to Singapore as she gets ready to open for AVENGED SEVENFOLD!. Singapore, you’re in for a night to remember.”
Congrats!
