As a parenting editor and the parent of a former toddler, I can see why Step2’s My First Christmas Trees are so popular. They’re adorable, and they’re a sweet and easy way for little ones to get involved in Christmas traditions. And yet the tree is not too big for toddlers—no pulling down branches trying to reach the top—and the ornaments are sturdy. They’ll save families from the tragedy that befell my family when my daughter was a toddler excited to decorate our family tree—I let her help and watched in horror as she dropped and broke ornament after ornament.

But just when I thought they couldn’t get any cuter, Step2 goes and releases the My First Christmas Tree in pink!

This 31-inch-tall tree would fit right in with any families who go for a pink Christmas theme. The ornaments, too, have a white-and-gold motif, which fits the pastel vibe of the tree. As with the green tree, there’s a star for the top, and a three-piece train set with a track that runs around the base.

The only catch—and this is a huge catch—is that the pink tree is only available in person in Target stores. It went so viral so immediately that it’s currently not available for shipping. (Though I’m keeping my eye on the stock, and the moment it’s available for shipping, I will shout it to the rooftops.) Select “pickup” as the delivery method, and the Target website will say which stores nearby have it in stock, and how many. Other sites claim to have it available for shipping, but those are largely resellers flipping them for elevated prices. (The MSRP is around $70, but I see it going for more than $100 on certain websites.)

The green tree, thankfully, is a lot easier to find and available for shipping.

Depending on where it’s purchased, the green tree has slight variations. The Target version has red-and-white ornaments with festive symbols on them, while the Amazon version has multicolor ornaments. The tree itself, too, is a deeper green at Target. Both trees have the train set in red, white, and green.

The great thing is, there are no wrong answers—each of the trees is a good option—and there are other Step2 “My First” items for little revelers, like a gingerbread house, a snowman, or a reusable advent calendar. All of them are ready to get families in the holiday spirit!
