We’re ready to enjoy so many fall activities, but nothing beats a good old pumpkin-carving session. This nostalgic activity is one of the best ways to spend time with family and friends—and get some decor out of it, too.

Even if you fancy yourself an artist, carving or painting a pumpkin can be challenging, what with all those curves and ridges. For this DIY, print your stencil of choice at a size that fits your pumpkin, then tape it in place. To transfer the design, poke holes along its outline through the paper and into the pumpkin. Remove the paper, then carve along the dotted line or paint inside the outline. Voilà, Halloween decor!
