The ever-so-cozy Lola Blanket is a viral hit—even among celebrities. Selena Gomez wrote her vows on one and Jake Shane keeps one in his podcast studio. It even showed up on last year's Oprah's Favorite Things list, and even reality star Bethenny Frankel has one in every room of her house.

Right now, all Lola Blankets are on sale for 50% off—and they're selling out fast. (Just note that you have to sign up for texts to get the discount code). I test bedding for a living, and when I hear about a brand this much and notice a product flying off the virtual shelves, I have to try it out myself. Plus, everyone I know has been asking me if they are worth buying for themselves, so I had to find out.

What are Lola Blankets?

Lola Blankets are super plush faux-fur blankets. They're made with a blend of 95% polyester and 5% spandex, making them feel silky and insanely soft. The Original blankets are available in four sizes starting at the following prices:

  • Baby: $125, 30" x 36"
  • Medium: $275, 50" x 60"
  • Large: $325, 60" x 72"
  • The Lola XL: $425, 80" x 90"

The brand also offers weighted blankets, which were featured on Oprah's Favorite Things, and they're available in three sizes and weights starting at the following prices:

  • Small: $135, 3 lbs, 30" x 36"
  • Medium: $325, 8 lbs, 50" x 60"
  • Large: $375, 10 lbs, 60" x 72"

I tested both blankets in size Large and think this is the best size for two people to use.

The blankets are available in classic neutral shades, bright hues, and fun patterns like tiger and checkered. While most faux-fur blankets only have a few color choices, Lola Blankets has over 50 color options, so you can definitely find the best style for your home.

First impressions of Lola Blankets

The company sent me one Original blanket and a weighted version too. When I first unwrapped the blankets, I understood why they have so many fans. Lola Blankets are incredibly soft and plush with a slight bubble texture that looks great strewn across my sofa. They're cozy to snuggle up with, but don't feel too hot or heavy like other faux-fur blankets I've tried before.

The weighted blanket in size Large offers just 10 pounds of gentle pressure. I usually feel claustrophobic with weighted blankets, but I found this lighter weight style soothing and extremely comfortable. Weighted blankets are notorious for being difficult to move around and lack a stylish look, so this is a good pick for someone looking for a less cumbersome option that offers a bit of pressure to encourage relaxation.

Are Lola Blankets worth it?

Lola Blankets are my favorite compared to other faux-fur blankets I've tried because they are fabulously soft, feature a stylish textured look, and aren't too heavy or constricting.

All that said, they are pricey: $325 for a blanket big enough for two people is expensive. However, these blankets regularly go on sale—especially the bundles.

Some online reviewers complained that they are pricey for a synthetic material. But, no natural material (except real fur) will feel as soft and plush as these synthetic options. If you want a super soft blanket, a synthetic one is likely your best bet. Cotton blankets can still be soft, but they won't be as soft and plush as a synthetic alternative.

I think the weighted style is innovative and unique compared to what is currently available on the market. If you are willing to spend the money, I think Lola Blankets will become your new favorite blanket or make a generous gift.

Again, Lola Blankets is hosting a site-wide sale right now, and everything is half price if you use the code SPRING50 at checkout.
