Hurrah, it's summer! And whether you're staying at home or soaking up the sunshine abroad, here's how to look after your make up and hair.
1. Budge-proof base
'Silicone in foundation creates a barrier between skin and moistre so it won't slide off if you're hot,' says make up artist Lee Pycroft.
We like No7 Airbrush Away Sheer Finish Foundation (£16.50). Small enough to keep in your clutch bag, Clarins Pore Perfecting Mattifying Kit (£33), keeps shine at bay, too.
A sweep of bronzer adds a flattering warmth to skin, and long-wearing, waterproof pigments in Guerlain Sun Tonic Limited Edition Terracotta (£36.50) mean the colour stays put.

2. Eye colour that lasts
Sweat, plus powder eyeshadow, equals a creased mess. Cream-based formulas won't get cakey when it's hot, and the sheer finish looks pretty in the sunshine.
Layering an eye primer underneath, such as Trish McEvoy Eye Base Essentials (£24), adds grip and prevents eye colour from creasing.
Finish with smudge-proof Burberry Eye Colour Cream (£25) which comes in 11 gorgeous shades, and can be layered to create a bolder look.

3. Prevent hair colour fade
If you're in and out of the pool try rubbing a couple of drops of baby oil over dry hair. It creates a waterproof barrier against mineral deposits in the chlorine, which can cause colour to take on an unflattering green or orange hue.
On dry land, a spritz of Aussie Miracle Hair UV Invisible Filter (£4.99) shields hair against colour-fading and dehydrating UV rays. For grey hair, our tested loved Oribe Silverati Shampoo (£33) and conditioner (£34), which knocked down yellow tones and boosted silver highlights.
4. Manage that frizz
'Detangling hair with a wide-tooth comb before you wash it reduces the pulling and snagging that causes frizz and flyaways,' says hairdresser Phil Smith. Humidity is also a common culprit, affecting dry, curly hair types, so keep moisture levels topped up with an oil-based serum, such as L'Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil Shimmer Oil (£16.59).
If you're away, pack Redken Heat Cure At-Home Packets (£25) for four. The self-heating formula repairs and conditions.
