Blonde it like Beckham! Victoria Beckham has made her first return to blonde hair since the Noughties, but her latest transformation is very different from her WAG era iteration.
Cast your mind back to 2007, and you’ll recall Victoria with her razor-cut bob bleached all-over blonde, paired with a deep Footballers Wives fake tan. Today, she’s opted for a far more polished and pared-back version, with her brunette base carefully enhanced by soft blonde pieces.
The gorgeous lighter colour, just shared on her Instagram stories, is focused around the front section, especially the lengths. A smattering of blonde pieces have also been artfully placed throughout the back to pull the whole look together.
We’ve seen Victoria gradually incorporating lighter tones into her hair recently, opting for a natural, youthful tone that’s actually very similar to her 14-year-old daughter Harper’s shade, but her blonde ambitions have definitely been scaled up with her latest makeover.
It’s a look that’s perfectly on brand for the 2026 version of Posh, according to colourist Shannon Gallacher from A-list-loved Nicola Clarke Salon. Not only is her colour polished and youthful-looking, it’s also ideal for Victoria’s busy schedule.
‘Victoria has gone for more of a balayage/dip-dye look with darker roots and honey-blonde ends,’ she explains to GH. ‘This allows her to freshen roots and cover greys more often without having to do any bleaching or blonding, keeping the hair in better condition overall.’
It’s far more wearable and flattering than Victoria’s previous blonde look, she notes, and even looks ‘more youthful’ than her more recent all-over dark brunette shade. She thinks Victoria, at 52, has made a smart switch by leaning into a lighter look.
‘In the WAG days, Victoria had fully bleached hair, which can be quite harsh as you get older and sometimes ageing,’ she tells GH. ‘She has also had dark hair more recently, which can come with the same problem and look dark and heavy.'
‘Adding some depth to the roots and sun-kissed ends keeps a more youthful look, as if it has grown out naturally. It’s less likely to wash out certain skin tones when done correctly.’
While all-over blonde isn’t a no-no for women in their 50s, she thinks Victoria’s latest shade is perfect for her right now. ‘Full bleaches can be pulled off by any age, but Victoria’s style suits the more lived-in, classy colour she has gone for, which keeps her whole image glossy.’
