The British sunshine has finally arrived and with it, the annual race for a sun-kissed look. After all, nothing feels as good as a post-holiday glow, and if anyone knows how to fake it flawlessly, it’s Victoria Beckham. Luckily for us, she just shared her three-step shortcut to looking freshly bronzed — no boarding pass required.
Posh Spice made the most of the long weekend, taking to Instagram to run through her faux ‘post-holiday glow’ routine. ‘I love that look of fresh skin when you’ve just got back from holiday, and your skin looks healthy and glowing,’ she shares.
To kick off the routine, she reaches for her own Victoria Beckham Beauty Colour Wash, a sheer, water-based tint that started as a blush line and recently evolved to include bronzer shades. Victoria opts for the new shade ‘Tanline’ — aptly named for its natural, bronze finish.
‘I like to put some of the product in the palm of my hand,’ Victoria says. ‘Then, I take my buffer brush. I like to use it quite aggressively, but it’s super soft and really gets into the skin. I take the product all over my face, really blending it in as I go,’ she explains, demonstrating a sweeping motion across her forehead and down the cheeks.
With a light first layer creating a bronzed glow, she then dips her brush back in for round two. ‘I then like to go back in and really focus on the areas where the sun would naturally catch my face. So, the centre of the nose and on the temples.’
She then reveals a clever trick that not only bronzes the face but creates a subtle face-lifting effect. ‘With the cheek area, I like to do a little smile as it helps raise the cheek,’ she explains. Applying the product while doing this gives an instantaneous effect – not only does she look beautifully bronzed, but sculpted too.
As Victoria sings the product’s praises, she explains why she was so keen to expand it with bronzer shades. ‘It’s such a light product and I wanted to be able to build it up. Once I’ve created my look, I know the product will stay all day.’
With a healthy tan in place, she moves on to blusher. Sticking with Colour Wash, she opts for the Vintage Rose shade, described as a sheer berry mauve. She explains, ‘Normally I use Flushed, but this is a slightly deeper tone as I’m wanting to go for a little bit more of a sun-kissed look today.’
She follows a similar technique, dispensing the blush into the palm of her hand and using the buffing brush to pick up the product. This time, she gently dabs, focusing the colour on the top of her cheekbones and across the bridge of her nose where the sun would naturally hit. With any excess left on the brush, she sweeps back over the forehead in a circular motion for a natural finish.
To complete her complexion, she uses her Concealer Pen. ‘I just dab it on any little imperfections that I have, like I have a little bit of sun damage,’ — yes, even Posh Spice admits to skin damage. ‘Once it sets, it’s there to stay. This is the last product I use to create that glow.’
The final result is enough to convince us that she’s been jetsetting. Consider us influenced.
