Looking as ‘pretty as a picture’ may be a well-worn phrase, but in the case of Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, it couldn’t be more fitting. The royal looked nothing short of incredible as her latest portrait was unveiled.

The portrait was revealed on Wednesday in London at the Lindley Hall and Sophie, of course, was in attendance. She was all smiles as she admired the watercolour strokes and met the artist behind the work, Sarah Jane Parsons.

The artwork itself was gorgeous – and Sophie looked just as radiant in person as she did on canvas. Clearly, the royal brought her beauty A-game to the gallery.

Sophie looked beautiful at the gallery

Sophie let her natural beauty shine through, opting for a light base that allowed her freckles to take centre stage. Her complexion was gently warmed with a dusting of bronzer, while a peachy-hued blush, swept across the apples of her cheeks, added a soft, natural flush. Her base remained matte, tapping into the ‘blurred makeup’ trend that has been taking over – someone’s been taking note.

She leaned into a subtly smokey eye, with a wash of taupe eyeshadow across the lid paired with a sweep of eyeliner along the lash line to add gentle definition. Just a coating of mascara was all that was needed to give her natural lashes a soft flutter.

Sophie opted for a summery pink lip

As for her lips, she opted for a bright pink – a favourite we often see her reach for in spring and summer. So, we can only imagine she is just as optimistic as we are about the British sunshine making a return.

Her hair looked extra bouncy, with voluminous roots that create a lifting effect, while her blonde locks were kept very natural, with just a slight curl at the end to softly frame the face.

If there’s one royal we can always count on for a hit of beauty inspiration, it has to be Sophie.
