You know Christmas is on the way when the smell of cinnamon, spice and fir trees begins to fill the air – so we’re very excited to learn that Yankee Candle has released its range of advent calendars for 2019.
Priced from a pocket-friendly £25 up to £80, there are three offerings to choose from, each containing a variety of candles in the brand’s innovative festive fragrances. You’ll find a selection of old favourites like Cinnamon Stick (which smells just as you’d expect) and Warm Cashmere (sandalwood and patchouli, mostly, to you and I) alongside new scents for 2019 from the brand’s Alpine Christmas range.
All of the Yankee calendars are always very popular, but our pick would be the Advent Book option. At £34.99, it contains a selection of 12 votive candles and 12 tea lights in 18 of the brand’s evocative-sounding fragrances, along with a decorative votive holder inside a fold-out calendar with a wintery wreath design.
Alongside classics like the extra-sweet Christmas Cookie, there’s the new Alpine Mint fragrance, with notes of mint, chocolate, almond and vanilla and the warmly spicy, floral, Alpine Morning.
There’s also the Advent Wreath calendar, £24.99, which has 24 tea lights in eight scents like Candlelit Cabin (with notes of rhubarb, black peppercorn, hazelnut and amber) and the zesty, pine-scented Evergreen Mist.
Or for the most ardent Yankee fans, the Tower Advent calendar, £79.99, is the one to splurge on. This comes stuffed with 22 scented treats, which is more than enough to keep your home festively fragranced across the whole Christmas season, along with a votive candle holder, a snuffer and a wick trimmer to keep your jar candles in good condition.
