There are certain ingredients we always have in our cupboards in the Good Housekeeping test kitchen; quality staples that add that extra flavour throughout. From tomatoes that deliver an authentic taste of Italy to much-loved classics we all have in our kitchen cupboard (yes, we're talking Branston Pickle), they add a little extra something to your dishes.
Introducing our line-up of GH Pantry Partners, kitchen staples that have all been awarded the coveted GHI Taste Approved endorsement.
These are the pantry items and brands we always have stashed in the cupboard.
Citizens of Soil Olive Oil
This award-winning range of olive oils started life from a love of Greek sunshine and friendship. The brand champions small-scale farmers and has a real focus on community, so you know you’re doing good as well as adding flavour.
Cirio tomatoes
The quality of your chopped tomatoes really does make all the difference when you’re cooking, and Cirio focuses in on every step of the production process – from the selection of the best fields to the perfect harvest times – to produce the most juicy, ripe, Italian tomatoes.
Kikkoman Soy Sauce
Following a 300-year old recipe, Kikkoman is a naturally brewed soy made with just four key ingredients: soybeans, wheat, salt and water. It’s an integral ingredient in our kitchen, used in everything from stir-fries to salad dressings.
Branston Pickle
Since its inception in 1922, Branston Pickle has been the nation’s best-loved pickle. Obviously it’s great alongside cheese (name a more iconic duo), but it’s also a perfect ingredient in everything from sausage rolls to stuffed breads.
Sarson’s Malt Vinegar
Sarson's malt vinegar is made by master brewers using quality British barley, which has delivered that famous tangy rich taste for more than 200 years. Whether you use it for pickling, adding to salad dressings or for sprinkling on hot, fluffy chips, Sarson’s is the GH Kitchen’s choice.
RUMMO pasta
For six generations, the Rummo family has been devoted to pasta-making. A dependable base for rich ragùs and oven-baked favourites, our current go-to shape is the brand’s versatile Mezzi Rigatoni N.51. Shorter than classic rigatoni, the ridged tubes cling to sauces while delivering a firm, al dente bite.
LittlePod vanilla
Championing real vanilla in all forms, LittlePod has been producing quality natural ingredients for home cooks and professional chefs since 2010. Just one teaspoon of the natural vanilla paste is equivalent to a whole vanilla pod, and conveniently, it can be kept in the cupboard for up to two years.
Banhoek Chilli Oil
Banhoek’s range of chilli oils is unrivalled. Great on pizza (and just about everything else), what sets it apart is the chillies that are grown in Fynbos-enriched soils, better known for producing Rooibos tea and world-class wines. The result is a real depth of flavour that lifts any meal with a quick drizzle.
St. Ewe Eggs
From baking cakes to creating silky pasta sauces, top-quality eggs are the cornerstone of any kitchen. Cornwall-based, family-run brand, St. Ewe, works with like-minded British farmers who put their free-range hens first. St. Ewe’s Rich Yolk Eggs are known for their deep orange yolks, making them a go-to for real food lovers, and helping every dish taste exceptional.
Tims Dairy Greek Family Natural Kefir
Tims Dairy’s Greek Family Natural Kefir stands out for its thick, creamy texture and milder flavour, making it far more versatile than traditional kefirs. Made with British milk and packed with 12 gut-friendly cultures, it delivers both on taste and everyday usability. We add it to a wide range of recipes, from breakfast through to dessert.
ASDA wines
ASDA is our preferred wine supplier, whether we’re re-stocking our wine rack ahead of hosting the big foodie events, or looking for the perfect pairing for our recipes. The extensive selection includes award-winning wines at every price point. Cheers.
How we work with the GH Pantry Partners
GH Kitchen is proud to have commercial partnerships with a range of brands across appliances, ingredients and other kitchen kit suppliers, to help deliver our famous Triple Tested recipes. These brands, aka the ‘GH Pantry Partners’ or ‘GH Kitchen Partners’, have all been tested and approved by the Good Housekeeping Institute. Rest assured that we would never feature a brand that doesn't meet our high standards.
Once they have passed our rigorous testing, Pantry Partners work with us in a number of ways – supplying products to us and paying to have their products featured in relevant content. They may also feature the GHI logo on their packaging.
