Pak choi is very versatile and easy to cook - you can steam it, fry it or roast it. It’s best served when the leafy greens are tender and the stalks retain a slight crunch. If you’ve ever wondered how to cook pak choi in its simplest form, here’s a quick guide.

To prepare, separate the leaves as you would with a baby gem lettuce. Heat a little oil in a frying pan over medium heat - high heat. Add the pak choi and stir-fry for 1–2 minutes, then add finely chopped garlic and fry for 30 seconds, or until fragrant. Remove from the heat and finish with a splash of light soy sauce.

If you’re after more pak choi inspiration, we’ve got you covered with an array of noodles, curries and one-pot bakes.
