It’s no secret that our skin changes as we age. From around the age of 30, collagen declines by around 1% each year, leading to skin that appears less plump, firm and radiant. This natural process is accelerated by hormonal fluctuations, particularly the drop in oestrogen levels associated with perimenopause and menopause. Stress and poor sleep – two common features of modern life – can also contribute to declining collagen levels, further impacting the skin’s appearance.
Fortunately, it’s not all doom and dermatological gloom. Advances in skincare technology mean there are now sophisticated ways to support ageing skin and help slow visible signs of collagen decline. A new wave of personalised skincare subscription services is transforming how we care for our complexions, offering highly targeted, results-driven formulations tailored to individual needs. Leading the charge is disruptor brand Renew+Me, the first personalised skincare service created specifically for mature skin.
From the team behind Skin+Me, the personalised skincare brand that broke the internet, and Hair+Me, which has helped thousands tackle thinning hair, comes Renew+Me. Designed specifically for mature skin, each tailored formulation is created to deliver visibly plumper, fuller-looking skin, with results promised in just 12 weeks.
As is the GH way, we put Renew+Me through its paces. A panel of team members used the subscription for the recommended three months, replacing their entire evening skincare routine with this one personalised treatment targeted specifically for their skin.
Below, you’ll find everything you need to know about the brand, followed by honest accounts of how our panellists got on with their personalised products.

Nadine, 44: looking to even out pigmentation and diminish dark circles
What’s your age and skin type/goal?
‘I’m 44 but sometimes forget that and usually get a mild shock when I look in the mirror and don’t see a 30-year-old looking back at me. To be fair, I’ve never had skin I needed to worry about, bar some very mild hyperpigmentation. However, as I’ve got older and rely on less sleep (full-time job, two kids and an obsession with The Pitt), my skin is starting to show the effects – dark circles and a sallow appearance. Ideally, I’d like my skin to look more hydrated with a more even tone.’
First impressions
‘Before you order, you fill in a questionnaire that works out your skin type. Normally, I’d find that a bit of a faff, but I appreciate that it’s personalised and, when it arrives (less than a week later), it comes in sleek packaging with your name on the tube – a nice touch. Another thing I find satisfying is the application. A simple twist and click releases just the right amount you need each time.’
How does it compare with other formulas you’ve used?
‘I’ve never used tretinoin before as I was scared off by too many horror stories – I was worried my skin would end up less flawless, more Freddy Krueger – but this was a very pleasant surprise. I “sandwiched” the formula with night cream to start with, then put it straight on to my skin and swapped out the night cream after a few weeks. Soon, people were commenting on how glowing I looked – a big win.’
Does it cater to your skin needs?
‘It definitely encouraged me to get into a dedicated skincare regime, which led to more hydrated, clearer, bouncier skin. The dark circles remain, but then again so does my late-night TV watching.’
The bottom line
‘I’m excited to continue my journey with Renew+Me. It’s easy to use and produced results I was more than happy with – I’m never going back to my multi-step regime!’
Kim, 54: looking to reduce red patches and ‘crinkly bits’
What’s your age and skin type/goal?
‘I’m 54 and my skin type would be best described as busy. I have dry bits and oily bits, crinkly bits and pops of colour caused by hyperpigmentation. Oh, and I get occasional breakouts of rosacea just to add to the fun. My goals are numerous, but if I could just reduce or remove the pigmentation issue, I would be more than happy.’
First impressions
‘The product arrives in a neat little letterbox-friendly tube – you simply twist it once for your optimal evening dose.’
How does it compare with other formulas you’ve used?
‘All creams I’ve used in the past have a one-size-fits-all approach, which is fine when you’re younger, but my skin now needs a little more attention than that.’
Does it cater to your skin needs?
‘After using the product for 12 weeks, I thought my skin did look smoother and feel more hydrated. And although there were no dramatic changes to the dark patches, I think that it could offer a gradual reduction over a few months. The first thing you’ll notice is the brightness, softness and smooth texture your formula offers your skin.’
The bottom line
‘I appreciated that the formulation was designed for me and my skin, and I can’t wait to see how it fares over an even longer period, as it’s already made a difference.’
Liz, 54: looking to firm fine lines and reduce pigmentation
What’s your age and skin type/goal?
‘I’m 54 and I don’t want to look 104! I would like to look more glowy, less wrinkled and less grey. If I can lose the pigmentation and get rid of some lines, that would be great.’
First impressions
‘I love the medical feel and the fact that they etch your name on the product! Filling in the questionnaire made me feel more confident that it will work with my skin. I was also so impressed that it dispenses exactly the right amount of product – everything about the process feels well thought out and cleverly designed.’
How does it compare with other formulas you’ve used?
‘It felt lovely to apply and absorbed easily into my skin, sinking in fast and leaving my complexion looking immediately more hydrated. It feels so much richer and more luxurious than other products I’ve used – you really feel like it’s working.’
Does it cater to your skin needs?
‘I think so! One thing I will say is my skin does feel better to touch and seems way softer since using it, so it’s definitely more hydrated. I’m hoping in a few more weeks I might notice a dramatic decrease in the wrinkles around my eyes, too. Too much to wish for?’
The bottom line
‘I love it – the subscription service particularly takes all the decision making out of stocking up on skincare. It’s super convenient and I’m confident it will continue keeping my skin looking and feeling more healthy, more so than any other products I’ve used in all my 54 years. I’ll happily continue to use it!’
