The Oodie Weighted Blanket features a soft polyester outer and an inner layer filled with fine glass beads, which are evenly distributed throughout the stitched compartments. It is designed to deliver gentle, evenly distributed pressure across the body, helping to promote relaxation and encourage deeper, more restful sleep.

It comes in three weights – 4.5kg, 6.8kg and 9kg – and the brand recommends choosing a blanket that’s around 10% of your body weight. So, if you weigh between 60-75kg, the 6.8kg option is likely to be the best fit.

It's available in a range of colourways, including classic options such as grey, navy and pink, as well as three newly launched styles: tan, burgundy and chocolate.

My Oodie Weighted Blanket review

As Good Housekeeping’s sleep editor, I got a first glimpse at the new range – I opted for the burgundy design in the 4.5kg weight – and it’s safe to say I’m impressed.

First of all, a moment for the seamless delivery – the blanket arrived in a sturdy cardboard box, neatly packaged inside a plastic cover.

When I unboxed it, I was immediately won over by the silky, plush feel of the fabric – far softer than other blankets currently draped over my sofa. I also loved the vibrant colour, which adds a stylish touch to my living room. The tan and chocolate colourways look just as gorgeous.

I personally enjoy using my weighted blanket when I'm unwinding in front of the telly or reading a book, as I find that cocooning, weighty feel helps me switch off and de-stress. With the Oodie, I like that the glass beads are tiny and barely noticeable, while the weight feels just right – not too heavy, but still reassuringly snug. If you’re planning to use it for sleep, you’ll be pleased to know the generous dimensions (198 x 121cm) are roomy enough for you and your partner to snuggle under.

After trying it out for myself, I can see what all the fuss is about. It's a hug in a blanket.

The Oodie Chocolate Weighted Blanket

Chocolate Weighted Blanket

The Oodie Chocolate Weighted Blanket

The Oodie blanket scored a near-perfect 98/100, impressing in our lab tests and receiving glowing reviews from our at-home panellists.

Like me, they loved the silky material, saying it kept them cosy and helped them to relax when unwinding on the sofa and settling in for the night, with many even reporting improved sleep quality. One described it as a “total game-changer", while another said they’d recommend it to “anyone and everyone”.

It also impressed for its even weight distribution and quiet design, with no clumping or bunching, or irritating rustling sounds at night. The blanket moulded comfortably to the body without feeling restrictive, and the glass beads were barely noticeable.

It’s also straightforward to care for, with the brand recommending hand washing followed by air drying to help maintain its soft, plush finish (though it can be machine washed on a gentle cycle if needed). Our only quibble? It is on the bulkier side, which can make it a little tricky to move around, but that's the case with all weighted designs.

Whether you’re looking to improve your evening wind down routine, reduce stress or simply want to make your bedroom cosier, it's a dreamy buy.
