I have two children, aged two and four, so it’s fair to say I’ve changed my fair share of nappies.

Before kids, I hadn’t given them much thought. Surely a nappy was a nappy, right? Oh, how naive I was. Now I know that a good one needs to be soft, comfortable and secure, plus slim enough not to ruin a cute outfit. Priorities, right?

More importantly, it also needs to survive a long night, a car journey and the dreaded ‘poonami’ – without requiring an emergency change of clothes for either of us.

Having tried a range of nappies at all price points, I can confidently say that Peachies is one of the few nappy brands I’ve tried that ticks all those boxes. I only wish I’d discovered them sooner.

But to make sure I wasn’t judging Peachies through the rose-tinted glasses of someone who’d only just escaped the nappy stage, I asked a few parents still firmly in the trenches for their verdict. Their babies ranged from 14 weeks to 18 months.

George, whose five-month-old Teddy wears a Size 03, agrees with me. Having tried Pampers, Aldi and Kit & Kin, George says Peachies are “the softest and easiest to put on”.

“They’re so soft, I almost wish I hadn’t tried them, because now I can’t go back,” he says. “My partner loves them, too.” Here's our parents' full verdict.

They passed the blowout test

The real test of any nappy is the dreaded blowout, and in my experience, Peachies kept everything contained. Priyankaa, whose 14-week-old daughter Tiya wears a Size 02, volunteered to really put them to the test. Before trying Peachies, she used Pampers and supermarket brands, but says Tiya had some “VERY big blowouts” while wearing them.

With other nappies, everything had escaped into the bouncer and across her white play gym. But with Peachies, it didn’t. “The Peachies nappies kept everything contained – there were no leaks,” she says. “This was very surprising as this definitely wasn’t the case with other brands where everything came spilling out.”

Priyankaa also says they’ve performed well overnight, even when Tiya sleeps for longer stretches. “I don’t need to worry about wee leakage, so she remains comfy, and I get a bit more sleep, too,” she says.

Her only criticism is that the all-white design can occasionally make it tricky to tell the front from the back during a rushed change. Personally, I liked the minimalist look – although I can see how it might cause confusion at 3am.

Parents are continuing to buy them

Laura originally bought Peachies for her daughter's newborn days, assuming she’d switch to a cheaper brand later. Goldie is now 18 months old, wears Size 04 pants, and Laura is still firmly on the Peachies train.

“I was only ever going to use them when she was a newborn,” she says. “But they were too good to stop.” She likes that Peachies are so soft and reliable, although Goldie did have the odd mishap when it was time to move up a size. Babies grow so quickly that this is often how you find out a nappy has become too snug. One week, nappies fit perfectly; the next, you’re trying to fasten the tabs while wondering how your teeny-tiny baby is suddenly so long.

Fortunately, Peachies will swap any unopened packets quickly if you’ve ordered the wrong size. Laura describes the customer service as “really great”, adding that the process has been easy and fast.

Beth, whose son Declan also wears Size 04 pants, likes how well they move with him. She says the elastic hasn’t left marks around his waist or legs, while the pants stay securely in place without feeling bulky. She’s also a fan of the all-white design, which reflects Peachies’ use of no harsh chemicals and gives the pants a less shiny, plastic feel than some other brands.

The subscription is genuinely handy

Peachies’ latest research found that 95% of UK mothers felt unprepared for what came after birth, while six in 10 felt people were more focused on the baby than on them. When asked what would have helped most, mothers chose practical support – meals, cleaning and laundry – over flowers or baby gifts. Although, to be fair, a glass of wine wouldn’t have gone amiss either.

A nappy subscription can’t cook dinner or fold the washing, but it can take one small job off a new parent’s already enormous to-do list. Laura says she’s never run out of nappies since signing up to Peachies, and I can see why that’s such a draw. Parents already have enough to remember without keeping track of how many nappies are left in the house.

It’s also easy to change the subscription date if you need the next delivery sooner or want to push it back, making it more flexible than a rigid recurring order.

The price is the only sticking point

Let’s not beat around the bush: Peachies are more expensive than some supermarket options, and that will be a dealbreaker for some families. George says her family would love to continue using Peachies, but may have to begrudgingly switch to cheaper brands because of their monthly budget.

Laura, on the other hand, thinks they’re “totally worth the money”, while Priyankaa was “super impressed” and says she’ll look at buying them again. So, like most premium baby products, they’re a question of whether the budget can stretch – but the parents I spoke to clearly felt the difference.

The verdict on Peachies nappies

I’ve now reached the end of the nappy stage with my own children, and I really wish I’d found Peachies earlier.

They’re noticeably soft, comfortable without feeling bulky and reassuringly reliable. The subscription takes one more job off your plate when you're at your most stretched, while the ability to change delivery dates and swap unopened packets for the right size makes the whole process genuinely useful.

I can see why Laura planned to use them only during the newborn stage and ended up buying them for 18 months. Once you’ve tried a nappy this soft, going back is surprisingly difficult.
