Two brands known for sweetness and nostalgia dropped a collab that is expected to sell out. The new clothing from Hill House Home with American Girl is for kids ages 2 to 12, grown-ups, and 18-inch dolls. The outfits—including Hill House Nap Dresses, plus a shirt-and-skirt set—are simply adorable, and sizes are already selling out.

With mommy-and-me dressing trending again, it feels like dolly-and-me outfits are due for a resurgence, too. Not that the American Girl brand ever stopped—it's always been selling outfits sized for 18-inch American Girl dolls as well as their owners. But this new collab shines a light on it.

On the Hill House Home site, I've seen girl's dresses sized in 2/3, 4/5, 6, 7, 8, and 10. On the American Girl site, girls's dresses starts in 4/5 but go up to 12.

The two Hill House Home adult dresses come in 10 sizes, from XXXS to XXXXL. Note that the adult dresses are only available for pre-order and will ship in August. Also included are the iconic dolls, plus hair bows for adults and kids.

Why American Girl is perfect for Hill House Home

Prints associated with the original historical American Girl Dolls include florals, ginghams, and stripes—right in line with the classic prints that Hill House Home has re-popularized. This new collection's designs include an Addy Print (pink with white stripes), Samantha Print (it's checkered), Felicity Print (with roses), and a Kirsten Print (blue calico).

American Girl's youthful aesthetic matches perfectly with Hill House Home, which features modest lengths and ruffled shoulders. I recently became a fan when I realized that the Hill House Home Nap Dress style is so easy to pull on, and that it fits curves thanks to its smocked top. It feels, indeed, like sleepwear, but looks adorable. (I've never bought one, but I rent the brand through Nuuly.)

And yes, kids like to match their dolls—actually my eldest liked to match their outfit to their doll or their stuffed animal, either one! And other than American Girl, it was hard to find dolly-and-me clothing, so I am excited to see this Hill House Home collaboration for the kids' sake, too.
