Traveling with toddlers is never easy, but the right travel gear can certainly make it a better experience. As an avid traveler, parent, and product reviewer at the Good Housekeeping Institute, you won’t find me boarding a plane without my favorite travel stroller: the Bugaboo Butterfly 2.
A Good Housekeeping 2026 Travel Awards winner, the Bugaboo Butterfly 2, is currently 15% off now through March 22nd. It’s retailing for $509, meaning you’ll save $90. Though it’s still a pricey investment, the one-hand fold and lightweight, compact size make this stroller a thousand times worth it. I’ve personally traveled with it on all types of trips, from family road trips to the beach and mountains, as well as all the way over to Iceland, France, California, and more. I’ve managed to comfortably fit it into all types of overhead compartments, navigate it down tight aisles, and squeeze it into small car trunks without any trouble. I secretly love the look on other passengers’ faces when it takes me seconds to pull out the stroller and pop it open.
What else makes it so great? The near flat recline makes it a top choice for on-the-go stroller naps, and the larger wheels mean smoother rides. I also find the under-seat basket sufficient for carrying around a good chunk of travel essentials, while the large canopy does an excellent job at shielding my daughter’s face from the harsh sun (plus, there’s a peek-a-boo window to check in). There’s even an extendable leg rest so she’s at her comfiest on long travel days.
Not only do I love the Butterfly 2, but our parent testers gave it top scores across the board. "It has all the features of a full-size stroller, but it's just compact," said one parent. "The stroller is so simple, which is key when your hands are constantly full, and you're trying to navigate with your little one," said another. I also absolutely love that it’s designed with high-quality fabric and is available in 5 shades, my favorite being the forest green.
Another bonus: Once folded, the stroller stands upright, so you don’t have to worry about it toppling over; plus, you get a built-in shoulder strap for easy carrying. The Bugaboo Butterfly 2 clearly doesn’t sacrifice comfort for size, and for that reason alone, plus the super easy one-handed, one-second fold, it’s a travel must in my books.
