This sweet treat never goes out of style. With simple colored blocks and cards, it’s perfect for preschoolers. The art may have changed a bit over the years, but I promise this is the same game you remember from when you were a kid.

I love Kandoodle so much that I play it weekly to decompress, and I also find myself watching people go head-to-head on social media. With this one, you can take your problem-solving skills to the next level by trying to get the pieces to fit correctly before your opponent.

Fair warning: Rounds of this strategy game can get intense. Essentially, you gather resources and trade with players in order to win. It’s a great pick for teens and adults, but it does take at least an hour to play.

Pull this one out if you have a large group to entertain. Everyone writes down answers to questions like, “Which animals have tails?”—and the goal is to have your response match the group’s. If you do, you’ll get points; if you don’t, you’re stuck with the pink cow until you’re back in the majority.

I haven’t had a chance to play this myself yet, but a LEGO board game certainly caught my attention—I’m a collector, after all—and I’m excited to get it. Each player stacks pieces and tries to keep their monkeys safe from falling towers. I’m also adding Brick Like This to my cart because it’s like LEGO Pictionary.

I’ve always loved games like Don’t Wake Daddy and Crocodile Dentist, where you press your luck pulling out pieces before something pops. If you pull the wrong piece out of the pipe here, Mario will come flying out.

I never laugh harder than when I’m playing games from Exploding Kittens; they’re fast and silly, and this one is no different. You only need a few minutes to play this hot potato-style game, and here’s how it works: You’ll roll a die, complete an action, and pass the chicken before your timer runs out.

Think you know everything about Pokémon? This game will test your knowledge, as players will gather around the Poké Ball and race to identify 151 different Pokémon from clues. I got to play this game earlier this year, and I was surprised by how challenging it is.

After a while, some board games stop holding my interest, but I’ve been playing Pass the Pigs for over 40 years—and, honestly, it’s still fun. Just toss the pigs, get points, and try to win! It’s easy to explain to a group of any size, and now, it comes with a “pig sty” cup.

Scrabble boards aren't the most portable, so I like this simplified word game for travel. It doesn't require a board and features pieces that snap together.

Some teens will scoff at family game night, but you might be able to entice them with Throw Throw Burrito. It’s worth noting that it does get physical, as you try to match cards quickly to avoid getting hit by a flying, squishy burrito.

I grew up playing Risk, and this game feels like that, but more stylish. You use strategy to create tunnels and ferries between train stations before the other players do. It’s a good game to play with adults or older kids.

Designed more for adults and teens, players take turns ranking things from love to loathe (think Hawaiian pizza and coffee) before friends guess the rankings. There’s even a Fourth Wing version for my fellow romantasy lovers.
