While some longtime favorite games for kids are themed around food—Candy Land and Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza come to mind—we’re seeing more food-themed games than ever in 2026. Kids really can play with their food with these!
We’re always testing toys and gifts for kids, especially for our annual list of the Best Toys. Many of these food-themed games are age-graded for elementary kids, and they’re a nice way to entice them into some social time.
Take, for instance, Gummy Grab: No one has to take turns or wait in this fast-paced game. Players race to lay down cards onto four piles, matching either the card’s number or color combo, similar to Uno. Once you’ve gotten rid of all your cards, you quickly grab a (faux) gummy worm. After three rounds, the player with the most worms wins. It includes 81 cards and 13 colorful worms.

GH TesterIn the game Smack N Cheese, players have to slap squeaky elbow noodles to win the game.
“The kids loved how realistic the worms looked and how competitive the game could get!” said one parent of a 5-year-old and a 7-year-old. Sub in real candy to play for higher stakes! It’s for two to six players ages 6 and older.
We like games for lots of scenarios: a rainy or snowy day, needing to kill time while dinner cooks, wanting to spend family time together in the evening or on a weekend, trying to engage a bunch of cousins to interact, jazzing up a playdate, and so on.
These food-themed games are good for any and all of that! In addition to being kid-approved, they’re all $20 or less.
Games That Revolve Around Goodies
This rapid-fire party game does bear a passing resemblance to beer pong, but it’s family-friendly and skill-based. Players use launchers to flip boba-shaped discs into cups to score points. Each round includes fun challenge cards. 2-6 players, ages 7+
Players take turns laying down cards, then compete to be the first to spot a match and smack one of two squeaky noodles. It’s a race-to-react game that definitely keeps your attention! The first person to collect a full set of cards wins. 2-6 players, ages 6+
Truthfully, this game kinda makes a mess. You use actual cereal (purchased separately), and kids try (and often fail) to catch pieces in their mouth. But hilarity ensues, and it keeps a pair of big kids or tweens engaged. Looking at online reviews, it seems like adults enjoy it too! 2 players, ages 8+
Like Jenga, this is a game of carefully taking out pieces. At each turn, a player removes a noodle, hoping to not knock the yeti into the bowl. There’s lots of suspense, then laughter when the yeti takes a tumble. 2+ players, ages 4+
A dodgeball card game? Yes indeed. While players race to collect three cards of a kind, they also play their Burrito Cards and have physical battles with soft, harmless toy burritos. Try and win the Fear Me Badge on the way to becoming the ultimate champion. 2-6 players, ages 7+
No one takes turns! Two players go head to head building their pizza pie at the same time. Roll your dice, match toppings to the pizza cards, and try to fill six slices faster than the other guy to win. 2 players, ages 6+
