As an elder millennial, I can still clearly remember the splendor of being greeted by a greased-up, bleach-tipped beefcake whenever I entered my mall’s Abercrombie, eager to collect a new lacy layering tank. The black-and-white shopping bags featuring male models in various states of undress no longer paper my walls, and I donated my mousse shirts and cupcake skirts nearly two decades ago, yet I suddenly find myself shopping at A&F again.
I thought I had let it go for good, like my Juicy sweats and Adidas tracksuits (I regret getting rid of the latter) but the new fleet of easy-to-wear dresses, great swimsuits, and denim that’s as likable as it was when Robbie Williams was on the radio, drew me back. And now that the whole site is 20% - 40% off for Memorial Day (some of the best clothing sales I've seen this weekend, TBH), it's an excellent time to rediscover the brand for yourself.
I'm dropping a few faves below, including the super comfy puff-sleeved midi that both Good Housekeeping Institute's Executive Director Lexie Sachs (one of the most stylish gals at our office) and I frequently wear to work. Is there anything better than a dress with sleeves and pockets? And, speaking of A&F's '90s-era, I'm also eyeing this matching his-and-hers madras bathing suit moment for me and my husband. He loves their trunks. Twinning, not so much, but hey, maybe the sale will convince him.
