Running is one of my favorite pastimes, and with Amazon Prime Day upon us, I’d argue it’s the best time to buy a new pair of running shoes while they’re on sale. Running sneakers need to be replaced after a few hundred miles, so I always use a sales holiday to shop for a new pair at a discounted price. Right now, I have found deals up to 31% off running shoes from brands like New Balance, Nike, Brooks, and Saucony, and I rounded up the best deals.
Not only do I love to run and have tried a dozen different sneakers, but our pros in the Good Housekeeping Institute Textiles Lab have evaluated tons of running shoes (our most recent test included 68 pairs with 250 consumer testers. I sifted through the top-performing sneakers from our tests and vetted discounts to help you find the deals actually worth shopping. Whether you’re a seasoned runner looking to replace worn-out sneakers or you’re a beginner looking for your first pair of running shoes, now is your chance to shop and save big!

These lightweight, flexible sneakers were rated as the best overall running shoe by our pros in the Textiles Lab, and they’re 21% off right now. "We especially like that they're strategically designed with more foam at the widest points of the shoe and more flexibility where they narrow," said Emma Seymour, associate director of GH Institute's Textiles Lab. Constructed with a lower heel drop, excellent stability, and cushioning, these shoes are a great pick for new and experienced runners.

Constructed with the brand’s “Segmented Crash Pad” outsole, this shoe is designed to absorb shock, promote an early heel strike, and they’re designed to prevent the ankle from rolling inward (so it’s not ideal for underpronators). One of our consumer testers said, "I didn't even feel like I was running on the pavement while wearing these." While they have cushioning in the outsole, they’re a bit firmer than some of our pros’ other top picks, so I recommend them for short daily runs rather than long training runs (aka, a 5K vs a half marathon).

Our consumer testers with high arches said these sneakers were supportive, comfortable, and helped prevent foot pain. One of our testers shared, "I have not taken these shoes off since receiving them. As someone with a bad back who frequently finds exercise painful, these running shoes never flare any hip pain." Just note, I typically go up a half size for all running shoes, but for these, I needed a full size larger.

Altra running shoes help support a natural foot shape because they are zero-drop and have a wider toe box. One of our testers shared, "I really liked the width, weight, and cushion of these sneakers. I didn't feel like anything was rubbing or causing blisters.”
