Recently, a bedding-related Reddit post stopped me in my tracks. The headline read, “Why isn’t there a comforter with a detachable blanket that can snap or zip on?” As a senior analyst in the Good Housekeeping Institute's Textiles Lab, I had to read on.

As it turns out, tons of Redditors had their own takes and DIY hacks to make your own—but we might’ve found the solution to OP’s (original poster’s) problem. Bedsure, a top-performing brand in our Labs, released a two-in-one GentleSoft comforter and snap-on blanket set.

It's like a three-in-one jacket for your bed; you get a blanket and a comforter that snap together in place, which means you can use them perfectly layered or separately. As a bonus, you’ll even get two matching pillow shams in your purchase.

As someone who tests bedding for a living, I’ve seen (and slept under) everything from cooling comforters to ultra-fluffy duvets—but I’ve never seen anything quite like this snap-on set. Thanks to Bedsure, I can layer my bedding without worrying about my blanket or comforter bunching up and landing on the floor. But, while it's a unique concept, does it live up to its promises? We put it to the test.

How it works

The attachments

There are seven snaps along the edges of the comforter and blanket.

The comforter and blanket each feature seven snaps along the edges (one in each corner and three middle snaps). The snaps are embedded in small fabric strips that are sewn to the larger product and feel substantial, luxe, and—most importantly—secure. I was impressed by the hardware.

Bedsure comforters are popular for the brand's exceptional value. This specific style is pre-washed and uses brushed polyester for added softness. When I first lay under it, it felt lightweight yet cozy and didn't irritate my skin. One thing that stands out about this comforter is how quiet it is: The brushed outer fabric isn't crinkly or loud like some cotton styles I've reviewed. Beyond that, the comforter itself is rather large and hangs over the edges for an oversize look.

The caveat is that it isn't quilted like a standard comforter, though it does have a few sewn-down sections. While this looks more polished, the fill isn't as secure and may shift over time.

Bedsure makes some of the best blankets we've tested—and its GentleSoft Blanket (the type of blanket included in this set) is an all-time favorite for its gorgeous ribbed design. We named it a 2025 Bedding Award winner for how cozy it felt and how well it washed.

Our home editors put it best: "The vertical detailing adds a special touch to this super-soft design," says Monique Valeris, home design director at Good Housekeeping. "[It's] an easy way to introduce more texture into a space and make it feel cozier."

Testers also were just as impressed. “The comforter was the perfect weight for everyday use. I loved that the fluffy blanket is attached to the comforter, so I didn't have to worry about it shifting off me and waking up cold. The fuzzy topper looked so welcoming and made our room look very comfy,” one shared.

Another tester said the comforter was “very soft and fluffy” and that it maintained its shape and fill even after many days of use. A separate tester added they appreciated the fact that you can pull the fur part off to use it as a throw blanket on the couch.

The bottom line: Is the Bedsure 2-in-1 blanket and comforter set worth it?

Yes! If you struggle with the all-too-common issue of waking up to a misaligned blanket, Bedsure's two-in-one comforter is certainly worth a try because the design will help prevent the layered blankets from bunching up (or falling off the bed) mid-sleep. Plus, for under $90 (on Amazon), you'll get three warmth options in one—whether you decide to layer up or use the comforter or blanket separately.
