- Costco’s hand-dipped shortbread cookies are back in bakery sections.
- Each package includes 18 large cookies dipped in dark chocolate and drizzled with white icing.
- Some shoppers report seeing them for $13.
More so than many of its grocery competitors, Costco has garnered a loyal fan base thanks to its stores’ square footage, competitive pricing, and seemingly endless lineup of exclusive products. From quick-and-easy frozen meals to its iconic rotisserie chicken, the warehouse giant offers something for just about everyone.
Of course, a major part of Costco’s enduring appeal is its limited-time bakery lineup—whether that’s a seasonal cake, pie, or other attention-grabbing pastry. And once again, the retailer has outdone itself: Its highly talked-about hand-dipped shortbread cookies have returned to bakery sections across the country.
According to the popular Instagram account Costco Empties, shoppers have begun spotting the fan-favorite cookies in their local warehouses. As in years past, each package contains 18 large shortbread cookies hand-dipped in dark chocolate and finished with a generous drizzle of white icing.
The combination of tender, buttery shortbread, rich chocolate, and sweet icing is hard to resist—and pairs remarkably well with a tall glass of milk or an after-dinner coffee.
Since the cookies’ return, fans have been quick to share their excitement online.
“The shortbread cookies are so good,” one user commented on Costco Empties’ Instagram post detailing the cookie’s arrival. On Reddit, several shoppers echoed the enthusiasm, with one fan noting that they were able to find the shortbread cookies sold in a variety pack for just $12.99.
In a separate comment, another Reddit user went on to say of the shortbread cookies, “Had these the other night, and they were delicious.”
“I’d eat all of these in a sitting and regret nothing,” another joked.
It’s not yet clear exactly how long the cookies will be stocked on Costco’s shelves. As with many of the Costco’s bakery favorites, it’s likely only a matter of time before they will once again disappear. If you’re hoping to snag a box, you may want to head to your nearest Costco sooner rather than later.
