Burger King is expanding its royal court.
On Thursday April 2, the fast food giant announced it's launching a nationwide hiring spree to bring on 60,000 new team members to "rule" its nearly 6,500 restaurants across the nation. The openings, the chain added in a statement, include everything from entry-level spots to management positions.
"We've done the important work of strengthening our operations, modernizing our restaurants, and listening to our Guests, and it's paying off," says Tom Curtis, the president of Burger King U.S. and Canada. "Now we need great people to help us keep that momentum going—people who are passionate, hardworking, and genuinely friendly. A warm welcome goes a long way, and the Team Members who bring that energy every day are at the heart of what makes the Burger King experience special."
The hiring push, Burger King added, comes on the back of a "transformative" period for the brand, which saw it modernize its restaurants and improve its daily operations to increase guest satisfaction.
As for what new hires can expect, Burger King noted that it is invested in their career over the long haul, including helping employees move up to management roles or even into franchise ownership.
"Burger King has been part of my family for as long as I can remember—I even got my own start as a Guest Ambassador, serving guests in the dining room. I grew up watching Team Members turn jobs into decades-long careers, and carrying on that legacy is something I take seriously as a Franchisee," says Nicole Dreier, a Burger King Franchisee with 45 restaurants under her management. "When we bring on new Team Members, we're not just filling roles; we're potentially changing the course of someone's life. Most of my above-restaurant leadership team started as Team Members themselves, and we wouldn't have it any other way."
This, however, isn't the only exciting announcement Burger King's had in recent weeks.
In February, Burger King announced that it was handing out its Curtis' direct cellphone line, so fans could personally give him feedback on both Burger King's products and restaurants.
"As the home of Have It Your Way, Guests are our most important advisors. We're grateful that they provide the feedback that is shaping our brand today and in the future," Curtis shared at the time. "There's nothing like hearing from guests firsthand, so I'm excited to have an even greater opportunity to have live, open, and honest conversations, ask questions, and see how we can create an even better Burger King together."
And just a week later, Burger King announced it was making a few key changes to its Whopper for the first time in nearly a decade, thanks to that feedback. According to the brand, the Whopper now comes with a more premium (better tasting) bun, served in a box to ensure it makes it to guests exactly the way it left the kitchen. It's also stacked with freshly cut onions and tomatoes, crisp lettuce, tangy pickles, and better-tasting mayo.
And it seems this is just the start of good things to happen at Burger King. For now, though, anyone looking for a new career at Burger King can apply for all the open roles at careers.bk.com.
