Wendy’s is bringing back its Sweet and Sour Dipping Sauce after a nearly 7-month hiatus.

The return was driven by thousands of fan requests on social media.

The sauce officially relaunched in U.S. restaurants on April 27.

Guess what, Wendy's fans? All your hooting and hollering online over your favorite sauce is finally paying off.

On Monday, the fast-food giant announced that after it received "thousands of social media comments" and "countless posts and tags," it's bringing back its Sweet and Sour Dipping Sauce once again.

"Starting today, April 27, Wendy's fan-favorite Sweet and Sour sauce is officially back in restaurants across the U.S. after a nearly seven-month hiatus," the brand explained in a statement.

And it made this return announcement with the help of self-described "Sweet and Sour sauce superfan" influencer and podcast host Jaz Smith. “No dream is too big," Smith added in the statement. "We asked for Sweet and Sour sauce, and Wendy's delivered!"

But here's the catch: It's only back for a limited time. Though Smith did note we can go ahead and keep harassing Wendy's to "keep it" on the menu forever. And after seeing the comments on Wendy’s post, it looks like fans are happy to spend their days asking for its permanent return.

"Limited time???? Did you not learn!," one fan exclaimed. "PLEASE KEEP THIS ON THE MENU IT'S LITERALLY MY FAVORITE AND MAKES THE MEAL," another added in all caps." And one more, equally animated fan added, "this is my favorite sauce... KEEP IT!!!!

The silver lining here is that Wendy's seems open to the idea of keeping the sauce around for good if everyone is loud enough about it, so keep the comments rolling in. As for how you can enjoy this sauce to its fullest, even for a limited time, Wendy's noted it pairs well with its Wendy's Tendys, chicken nuggets, or Hot & Crispy Fries. Fans can order it as an add-on to any meal and "get to dipping."

There are, however, a few other sauces to try while you're there, including the Wendy's Signature, Sweet Chili, Scorchin' Hot, Creamy Ranch, Honey BBQ, and Honey Mustard. But those are all safely on the permanent menu, so maybe save them for another day. Sweet and Sour needs your attention now.
