I don't know how it took me until season 4 to fully commit to the Traitors-verse but I'm finally here and I'm hooked. The manipulation, the macabre games, and the Real Housewives all make for a tantalizing triptych, though more than anything, I'm in it for the fashion. The inimitable Alan Cumming's looks are so captivating that they've had me questioning whether I can pull off a sequined tartan cape, but contestant Colton Underwood's 'fits have been sleeper hits.
The black sheep fleece he wore on episode 3 (no spoilers), has lived rent-free in my head. Like the original Warm & Wonderful knit Princess Diana made famous in June 1981, Colton's Rowing Blazers version, featuring the same pattern, is just perfect.
At a time when the tabloids framed her as “Shy Di,” the 19-year-old Diana first stepped out in the sweater at a polo match beside her new fiancé, then Prince Charles, and the choice felt like a sly sartorial wink. When she recycled it in 1983, it officially became one of her most iconic pieces.
It's unclear if Colton chose the jacket as another presumed proclamation of rebellion, or if he's being softly seeded product by the brand (he also rocked their adorable Tigger cashmere crewneck, which I'm doubly infatuated with).
Either way, Colton, and the late, great Princess Di, have both sold me.
In fact, I'm shortlisting this cozy Etsy sweatshirt for Valentine's Day.
