I’m a certified plant lover, as proven by the vine-covered state of my kitchen counter and office desk. I also love gardening when I get the chance—and arranging flower bouquets at home! Making floral arrangements is a fun form of self-care for me, because it combines hands-on hobby time with a little bit of art to brighten my home.

I’m usually a big fan of the petite bouquets at Trader Joe’s for my arrangements. But I might have to try buying my flowers elsewhere, because fresh flowers are now coming to Michaels craft stores. I love a trip to Michaels to stock up on my favorite craft supplies, and I’m excited that they’re going to start carrying flowers, too. The fresh flowers will be in over 400 stores, and I’m hoping my local store will be one of them.

The fun part of Michaels carrying bouquets is that everything you need for a floral arrangement will be in one place. You can pick a vase or interesting glassware, fill it with glass pebbles or floral foam, add ribbons or any decorations you want, and then pick out the perfect flowers to fill it all out.

Having all the supplies in one place really opens the door for some crazy and creative floral arrangements, whether you want to build something structural with floral foam or incorporate unusual materials. You can also grab matching party supplies or seasonal décor to get everything you need ready for a birthday or dinner party, leaving fewer errands to run and more time to celebrate.

When I have a custom floral arrangement to show off, it makes me want to light some candles. When I light the candles, I want to cook a nice dinner to match. Of course, any good dinner deserves dessert. And just like that, your whole day has improved, all with a few flowers and a little handiwork.
