Chores, notoriously, aren’t super fun—but in the age of AI, they’re getting a little more enjoyable. Take vacuuming, for instance. Instead of rolling a bulky upright vacuum around your living room, you can now program a robot vac to scan the floor and pick up debris for you. As someone who has a crawling baby and a double-coated dog that’s notorious for shedding, it feels like my floors are constantly covered in pet hair, crumbs, debris, and food—so I'm all for cleaning upgrades like this.

To help me keep my floors tidy, I’ve been relying on theEcovacs Deebot X11 OmniCyclone robot vacuum and mop for the past few weeks. It’s one of ECOVACS’ pricier picks, but it’s currently 40% off on Amazon ($1,499.99 or $899.99) ahead of Amazon's Big Spring Sale.

If you’re looking for an even better steal, the Ecovacs Deebot X9 Pro Omniis another great choice and was a top-performer in the Good Housekeeping Institute’s Cleaning Lab tests. It’s 48% off and on sale for $679 (which is cheaper than it was on Black Friday).

As someone who reviews tech gadgets and home products at the Good Housekeeping Institute, I've had the opportunity to try quite a few robot vacuums at home alongside our Cleaning Lab experts, who test everything from robot vacuums for pet hair to the best robot mops. Here's everything that I like about the X11 and what our experts have to say about the X9.

What we love about Ecovacs robot vacuums

My Ecovacs X11 robot vacuum and mop has become a welcome staple in my home. It’s helped me ensure that my floor actually gets cleaned during busy weeks thanks to a routine I created for it. Without any effort on my part, except occasionally emptying the dust bin and the dirty water tank (as well as refilling it with clean water), it now turns on automatically and starts doing its job.

I love watching my robot vacuum tackle all the grime on my hardwood floors and appreciate how it leaves them pristine and noticeably shinier. What I appreciate even more is that it’s able to tackle various surface types and effectively navigate from my wooden floors and onto several thick rugs scattered throughout my apartment without the need for manual adjustments. It does a great job at picking up the mess around my toddler’s highchair, as well as the stray pet hairs that are everywhere.

How the X9 performed in Lab tests

In our Cleaning Lab tests, GH product analysts were impressed with the Ecovacs Deebot X9 Pro Omni's performance. It effectively picked up debris from both bare floors and carpet, and it performed well in our maneuverability tests. "The X9 was able to clear our two-room obstacle course in less than 10 minutes," said Noah Pinsonnault, Home Care & Cleaning Reviews Analyst. "It successfully navigated around furniture, and we only noted a single collision with the small cones we use to simulate toys or other stray items left on the floor."

When it comes to mopping, it received the highest mopping score of all robot vacuum-mops we evaluated. "In our mopping test, it almost completely removed the sticky kitchen messes like chocolate syrup, and it made a significant impact on patches of dried mud as well," said Pinsonnault.
