Do you remember when Taylor Swift broke the internet after she wore a $40 Halara skirt to Coachella a few years ago? I do, because I remember I wanted it so badly. The pleated black mini skirt with a chic left-leg buckle became an instant hit in the athleisure world, so much so that it sold out fast.
But now it’s finally back in stock—not only in the black skirt Taylor originally wore, also known as Taylor’s Version—but also in a beautiful lilac shade that’s ideal for spring.
This new lilac version is slightly different from original black skirt. Instead of a buckle on the left thigh, the lilac skirt has criss-cross straps, along with a subtle smiley face on the inner lining. The cheerful art is a result of Halara’s new collaboration with Smiley, a company that aims to spread happiness through unique brand collaborations.
What these skirts do have in common, though, are the mini length, pleats, inner pockets, and four-way stretch. Plus, they have built-in shorts underneath (a game changer, in my opinion). According to Halara, they’re also lightweight, breathable, and ideal for dancing or casual activities. It’s no wonder Taylor wore the skirt to Coachella, a music festival that's in the literal desert.
In addition to impressing the singer-songwriter, Halara wowed the Good Housekeeping Textiles, Apparel, & Paper Lab when testing the best exercise dresses. Testers found the Halara dress they tested (now sold out) comfortable to wear all day and supportive, with one tester calling it “insanely soft and comfy.” They also raved about the pockets.
If you’re hoping to buy the Halara x Smiley Breezeful skirt, keep in mind that this particular design has limited stock, per the brand’s site. However, there are several more options to choose from when it comes to Halara’s bright-and-cheery springtime collab with Smiley.
You’ll find lavender-colored dresses with shorts underneath, cropped tees with built-in bras, and even racerback sports bras with smiley faces plastered across the stretchy fabric. Just know, this collaboration will only be live for a limited time.
