Here’s a sizzling deal to help you through every heat wave this summer: Intex’s Rectangular Frame Above-Ground Swimming Pool, a top pick with our experts in the Good Housekeeping Home Improvement & Outdoor Lab, is 25% off for Amazon Prime Day, dropping its price to a super cool $86.
Above-ground pools are already the most affordable way to bring water into any backyard—especially compared to in-ground swimming pools, with their average cost of $65,000, according to Angi. You’re not going to be swimming laps or practicing your back dive in the Intex, though at 9' 10" x 6' 6.75", it serves up plenty of room for gentle wading or for young kids to frolic.
I’ve evaluated dozens of above-ground pools during my decades as a home expert. The Intex impressed me with its overall construction quality, including a rust-resistant metal frame and three-ply PVC shell, along with its straightforward setup. Keep in mind that you'll have to buy a filter pump separately to keep the water clean, as well as a ladder and cover.
Even with the added cost of those accessories, keeping cool all summer for under a couple of hundred dollars makes this one of the hottest deals of the day.
