Summer is officially in full swing, which means it’s time to soak up every sunny day. Whether you’re hosting a backyard pool party, heading to the lake, or simply floating the afternoon away, the right float can make the day even more fun. Amazon is fully stocked with pretty much any pool float you can imagine, but the creative designs are what really caught our eye. Think a giant unicorn, Malibu Barble golf cart, or inflatable pizza slice that are sure to strike up conversation when guests come over.
But before you click “add to cart,” be sure to review the pool floats’ material, weight limits, and dimensions (note that the larger the design, the more storage you’ll need). It’s also a good idea to look out for features like back support, headrests, armrests, and sturdy handles, which are essential if you have kids.
Chair floats
We found several fun options for chair floats, from a peacock to a hilarious banana. These are designed for individuals, though some note that two people can fit on one float. Just make sure to pay attention to all product labels.
Pool floats for groups or families
There are river raft and loungers that can seat up to three or four people. They’re fun for lake trips, boat days, or relaxing pool parties. Some even have cup holders, so you can lounge for hours without getting up.
Pool floats for kids
For kids, there are fun options with water sprayers and kid-friendly designs. Make sure to take precautions when shopping for floats for kids, as punctures or kids slipping through bigger floats can happen. Also, there should always be at least one adult supervising kids in the pool.
