Our pros at the Good Housekeeping Institute Cleaning Lab have tested dozens of Dyson vacuums, and it’s safe to say that the brand is beloved by our staffers. And it’s more than just a pretty label: Our experts have recommended several Dyson models, praising the brand’s innovative features like user-friendly designs, laser lights, and powerful suction.

This particular Dyson, the 360 Vis Nav Robot Vacuum, impressed in testing, especially when it came to tackling pet hair. It didn't clog on faux fur, and the wide brush bar covered more ground with fewer passes. It received such high marks that our pros named it the best compact robot vacuum—and it’s on major sale today.

It’s quite rare to find a Dyson at under $300 (most run from about $400 to $1,000, and this one retailed for the latter). As a shopping editor who covers sales daily, take it from me: this is a deal you shouldn’t pass up.

If strong suction is a priority, the Vis Nav delivers. In our carpet tests, it removed heavy debris like sand better than any other model we tested.

Sure, it has some caveats. For one, the vacuum doesn’t self-empty. However, you can easily detach the dustbin and dispose of debris with the touch of one button. Also, while the brand says the robot can run for up to 65 minutes, we found that the battery lasted closer to 35 minutes. And since it takes two hours to charge, keep in mind that larger cleaning jobs are going to need multiple cleaning and recharging sessions.

The app comes in handy, as it enables nice-to-haves like room mapping, no-go zones, and scheduled cleaning times.

Our Lab experts can vouch for the vacuum's performance, and I can vouch for the price. At 70% off, this is one of the strongest deals I've seen.
