After testing more than 250 mattresses, the Saatva Classic remains one of my top recommendations. It continues to impress us at the Good Housekeeping Institute Textiles Lab with its durable construction, consistent praise from at-home testers, and free in-home setup.
Now through October 12, Good Housekeeping readers can save 20% on mattress purchases of $1,000 or more when shopping through our links—a significantly better deal than Saatva's public Prime Day promotion. Our Favorite Saatva Mattresses
Why are Saatva mattresses worth buying?
It's hard to put a price on a good night's sleep, but few brands have impressed us as consistently as Saatva.
My team and I have tested more than 250 mattresses, surveyed over 10,000 mattress owners and analyzed responses to more than 180,000 mattress-related questions. Throughout the past decade of testing, several of Saatva’s mattresses have earned consistent praise from our at-home consumer testers for their quality craftsmanship, top-notch support, and impeccable customer service. The brand also stands out for its free white-glove delivery, including full-service setup, and 365-day sleep trial (minus a $99 pickup fee if things don’t work out).
What is the best Saatva mattress?
While your personal preferences matter most, our favorite is the Classic Mattress, which is also the brand’s most popular model. It’s a luxury innerspring that feels like an upgrade from the mattress you grew up with: Most innerspring mattresses we’ve seen tend to be either a bit cheap or very expensive, but this one hits the sweet spot in terms of price while still delivering excellent quality.
Throughout the past decade of testing, the Classic Mattress has been a front-runner across categories for its comfort, support, and positive impact on overall sleep quality.
One tester called it "just the right amount of plush," while another said it was "not too firm, yet not too squishy." Others praised its exceptional support: One exclaimed, “I wake up with no [lower] back pain!"
You can choose from three firmness levels, making it easier to find the right feel for your sleep style, though some testers found it ran slightly firmer than expected. It also earned high scores for edge support and includes free white-glove delivery and in-home setup.
Can you return a Saatva mattress?
Yes. Saatva offers a generous 365-day sleep trial, which gives you plenty of time to see if the mattress is right for you. If you're not satisfied with your purchase, you can schedule a return and receive a full refund—minus a $99 pickup fee.
