A.J. Cook is trying her hand at something new.
Just days before Criminal Minds: Evolution wrapped its fourth season (the franchise's 19th overall) on July 23 on Paramount+, fans learned the actress behind SSA J.J. Jareau had an exciting project.
In a TikTok video for Simon & Schuster Audio posted on July 20, A.J. appeared in a recording booth narrating One of Our Own by Lucinda Berry. Better yet, fans can already listen to the audiobook.
“@criminalminds actress A.J. Cook narrates @lucindaberryauthor's One of Our Own,” the caption read.
Fans couldn’t hold back their thoughts about the unexpected move.
“MY QUEEN AJ COOK DOES AUDIOBOOKS????” one person shouted in the comments. “Please do more audiobooks!!!! This was the best one I’ve ever listened to,” another begged. “LOVED this story and AJ KILLED it. I couldn’t stop listening,” a different follower added.
One of Our Own follows Felicia, a single woman who volunteers at a small Wisconsin crisis center. When she gets a call from a teenage girl reporting a sexual assault, Felicia breaks protocol to help the girl. But as more details emerge about the incident, Felicia starts to wonder if she has a personal tie to the case.
Interestingly enough, the audiobook was released in March 2024.
No matter the case, it looks like we have something new to listen to!
