Are CBS’s favorite ghosts going away sooner than we thought?
For the last five seasons, viewers have tuned in on Thursdays to watch their favorite sitcom, Ghosts. The show follows a couple who own a bed-and-breakfast and discover that spirits from different time periods inhabit the property—and hijinks ensue.
Ghosts returned for season 5, but fans are wondering what’s next for the series. Well, Rose McIver (who portrays Sam) may have shared a clue about the show’s future. In a heartfelt Instagram post on February 19, fans can see her posing with fellow castmates, and the actress got sentimental in the caption about wrapping up filming for the latest installment.
“Five whole seasons of making this show with people I love,” wrote Rose. “I am so lucky. Enormous thanks to everyone who tunes in week after week to watch! We are forever in your debt ❤️.”
When fans saw Rose's sentimental note, many started to beg for more seasons.
“I love this series ... Waiting for more seasons 😍,” one person wrote in the comments.
“Love you guys!!! Well done, 5 more years please!” another agreed.
“Love Ghosts, we need more, more often. This waiting game for months is irritating. Please. Film more,” a different follower added.
Luckily, the show was already renewed for season 6 back in February 2025—right around the time fans learned season 5 would be coming to TV as well.
“#GhostsCBS is so nice, they* renewed us twice!” the caption read on Instagram at the time. “See you for seasons 5 and 6, ghosties. 👻.”
Needless to say, we’re super hyped about more Ghost episodes to come, and we can’t wait to see what happens next.
