Ghosts season 5 returns with new episodes on February 26, 2026, at 8:30 p.m. ET on CBS.

Good Housekeeping caught up with star Asher Grodman, who opened up about his character Trevor Lefkowitz’s trajectory on season 5.

The actor also spoke about why fans are essential to Ghosts’ success.

The hit series Ghosts is coming back for season 5 on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 8:30 p.m. ET on CBS, and viewers are ecstatic to head back to Woodstone Manor.

Folks love watching Trevor Lefkowitz, played by Asher Grodman, experience everything that comes with being a spirit from the 1990s. The former Wall Street playboy found himself in an unexpected love affair with a ghost who’s completely his opposite—a 17th-century Puritan named Patience (portrayed by Mary Holland).

Given how the character has gone through quite a lot in the last few episodes alone, fans are excited to see Trevor’s trajectory with his fellow spirits, like Alberta Haynes (Danielle Pinnock), Hetty Woodstone (Rebecca Wisocky), Pete Martino (Richie Moriarty), and more.

And according to Asher, it makes sense why people like the character so much.

“One of the things I think Ghosts does a pretty good job of is that these characters are all deeply flawed,” he told Good Housekeeping over Zoom. “While the nature of a sitcom is that we revert back to the beginning for every episode, Trevor has a reality that we love bouncing off of. At some level, we always want Trevor to be stuck in his ways in the ’90s. But then he has these little discoveries and moments that people find themselves relating to.”

And while there’s a lot Asher couldn’t reveal about what his character will be getting into in the back half of season 5, he did say that fans will get to see Trevor—and the rest of the ghosts at Woodstone Manor, for that matter—develop relationships that extend beyond just one episode.

“I love that this season, you’re seeing the show deepening the relationships the ghosts have with one another,” he adds about what fans can expect from the latter half of Ghosts season 5. “So many of the characters’ personalities are so diametrically opposed to Trevor’s, and I find that so interesting. But above all, they all have a bond with each other that is all about experiencing joy. Because even if they’re all stuck in Woodstone Manor, the innate joy they all have being together sets us up for a place where the audience can experience a lot of laughs and optimism for each episode.”

Asher insists the fans have everything to do with Ghosts’ incredible success, given that the premise has kept the show on air for close to a decade.

“I truly believe Ghosts has one of the greatest concepts for a TV show in this generation,” he concludes. “The show finds unique ways to deal with universally difficult topics, like death and loss, and it manages to throw a little levity into how each character deals with them. And to see the response people have to the show and their favorite characters—it’s rewarding. The thing I hear most from fans is that Ghosts feels like a warm hug when they watch a new episode, and that always feels so good to hear.”
