The latest installment of Dancing With the Stars is underway—and judge Carrie Ann Inaba already has her eye on a potential frontrunner.

The season 35 premiere kicked off on September 15, with the men from the cast showing off their moves. Singer Taylor Hanson and his partner Britt Stewart performed a memorable Quickstep to the 1983 Billy Joel hit “Tell Her About It” for their first dance.

Carrie Ann made Taylor emotional with her feedback.

“Every once in a while, someone dances and I hear Len Goodman in my head,” she said during the broadcast, referencing the late DWTS head judge who died in 2023. “That’s a proper Quickstep. That was really wonderful. With time, dancing like that—hey, keep your eyes on this one, people! For sure!”

Shortly after Taylor and Britt received their score of 16 out of 30, fans took to Instagram to echo Carrie Ann.

“FAVORITE OF THE NIGHT! ⭐️🧡 #teambrittay 🪩,” one person wrote. “A night one quickstep is insane, and they NAILED IT. Let’s goooo team brittay!!!!!!!!!!” another exclaimed. “Dare I say dark horse?!” a different follower added.

The performance earned Taylor and Britt a spot in the second week of competition. And if this is what Taylor is dishing out in week one, we can only imagine what he has in store for the rest of the season!
