Designers Share Clever Studio Apartment Ideas to Maximize Every Inch
Studios may be small, but that doesn't mean they aren't stylish.

As a former occupant of a studio apartment, I know that they can pose some unique design challenges. But in a way, I think a studio apartment offers a unique opportunity to get creative with everything from storage space to layout. I tapped designers for their best studio apartment ideas.
Most studio apartments are limited when it comes to space. In addition to decluttering regularly to get rid of items you don't really need, the key is getting creative when it comes to storage. Taking advantage of wall shelves and furniture with built-in storage is key. Another common issue is figuring out how to create separation in such a small space. Things like small tables, desks, or freestanding shelving units can separate your kitchen, living space, and bedroom even if you don't have walls between them.
Designers also shared tips for how to make your studio apartment feel like it's truly yours. Elements like a gallery wall, colorful textiles, and vintage-inspired wallpaper can make a space feel more personal. These tips don't just apply to studio apartments. You can also use them if you're decorating a dorm room or tiny home.
Below, designers share their go-to studio apartment ideas for a space that's stylish and functional.
