While everyone is out and about soaking up the remaining warmth of summer, I’ll be spending August planning my fall wardrobe and gearing up for sweater weather. Autumn has always been my favorite season for multiple reasons (pumpkin-spice everything, chilly mornings, scary-movie marathons, you name it), but I especially love breaking out my jacket collection the second it gets cold out.
I’m on the lookout for some fresh outerwear to welcome the season with—and since Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale is in full swing, I figured I’d check there first.
To my surprise, I found multiple coats from Barbour—a brand that never gets discounted. It’s beloved by Kate Middleton and was also adored by fellow royals Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Diana.

I’m also eyeing the Erma Waxed Cotton Jacket and the Transport Waxed Cotton Jacket, both of which have the classic boxy fits and neutral accents that’ll make you look positively British.
If barn jackets aren’t your thing, you can always opt for a different style (like this chic rain jacket, which has a removable hood). Regardless of your choice, these jackets will last you years—and you can always get them re-waxed when needed.
