As the kid at the pool party who refused to remove her oversized Hard Rock tee and Umbros, I never thought I’d be sitting here today writing a valentine to my favorite swimsuit, but Boden has that effect on me. The British retailer, beloved by Kate Middleton, created a unicorn that helped me shake that prepubescent beach day dread that lingered long into adulthood.
I’m a well-endowed gal who’d been wearing cheap, unsupportive tankinis that did me absolutely no favors. It wasn’t until I discovered Boden’s one-pieces that come in specific cup sizes with underwire–which is very rare–that I saw what a difference having a (literal) boost makes. Plus, this one’s fully lined and holds you in place even after mauling a plate of oceanside fries (pictured above). And, the straps are removable if you want a more mod vibe.
While the Rhodes style is my favorite (mine’s kept its shape for three years), fellow Good Housekeeping staffers are also partial to this halter, which similarly offers tummy control. I’m also eyeing all the pretty paisley from the brand’s spring break edit, because if I’ve learned anything after (redacted) years of swimsuit shopping, it’s that a cute print goes a long way.
