In the ongoing saga of Demi Moore’s long locks versus the scissors, it seems the scissors are winning once again. The actor has been turning heads at the Cannes Film Festival all week with a series of breathtaking looks, but last night brought the biggest surprise yet: the return of the bob.
You might recall Demi’s fleeting bob from a few months ago. It was an unexpected transformation, given the actor’s waist-skimming lengths have become a cultural icon in their own right. However, before the surprise had even had time to wear off, her long locks were back safe and sound.
So, you can only imagine the GH beauty team’s surprise this morning to discover that – yes – the bob is back, again.
Demi looked incredible as she stepped on to the red carpet in a strapless, sapphire gown paired with an impressive statement necklace. The new bob was a masterful move by her hairstylist, Dimitris Giannetos – allowing the dramatic jewellery to take centre stage without competing with her signature lengths.
While her last bob leaned into an edgier wet-look finish, this time she embraced full old Hollywood glamour. With a deep side parting, the style delivered plenty of volume before falling into bouncy, sculpted curls. A softly brushed-out finish completed the vintage-inspired look.
Shine is never skimped on by Demi. In fact, her locks were so impossibly glossy and light reflecting that they almost took on the sapphire tone of her dress. Thankfully, there was no need for hair-sleuthing, as Dimitris credited the mirror-like shine to Kérastase.
Dimitris used both the Elixir Ultime Hair Oil and the Chronologiste Overnight Youth Hair Serum to nourish the hair and enhance its shine. And, for the ultimate glossy finish, he set those incredible curls with the Laque Couture finishing spray.
Of course, if Demi’s recent hair history tells us anything, we imagine her long locks are on standby. But, whether she’s embracing waist-length waves or a glamorous bob, she proves that both long and short styles can look equally brilliant in your 60s.
