It's hard to deny that supermarket fashion is taking off in its own right. Why? Because it's incredibly chic, but also seriously affordable, making wearing the key fashion trends of now easy to do. Sainsbury's Tu is the first to come to mind, always dropping pieces that genuinely take me aback with how stylish they are, considering they're from the same place I get my groceries.
Tesco's clothing brand F+F is also up there too (lest we forget the excellent pieces that were perfect for updating your spring wardrobe), making it another great choice for affordable fashion that turns heads. But now, my eye has been drawn to George - ASDA's fashion brand - in particular to a swishy dress that is incredibly up to date but won't cost you a fortune.
At first glance, it might look like your typical shirt dress - considerately designed, with structured detailing for a classic, sophisticated edge. But look closer and it comes with unique detailing around the waist for a cinched touch that takes a sleek piece from good to great.
Its colour is also worth noting. While it might be pared back, the chocolate brown shade marks the beginning of autumnal fashion, yet can still be worn during the notoriously tricky-to-dress-for transitional season.
Of course, it doesn't come as a surprise that George has started to take off style-wise. Created by English designer George Davies, who also launched M&S's upmarket Per Una, George at ASDA has been incredibly fashion-forward since its beginnings. So, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that I'd predict this piece will sell out, and fast.
