If you've ever wished you could move into Lorelai and Rory's cozy blue-and-white house in Stars Hollow, this one's for you. You can't actually move to Maple Street, but you can build a mini brick version of their home—and it costs just $50. No loan from Emily and Richard required.
While this building set is designed for ages 8 and up, it contains nearly 1,600 pieces, making it a pretty substantial build. And since Gilmore Girls is rated TV-14, we'd recommend it as a project for older kids, teens, and adult fans of the show.
We love the distinctive porch with beautiful flowers in front—and when turned around, you can see furniture and other details fans are sure to recognize inside. Coffee mug included, of course! The house is built with two separate levels, and you can easily remove the second story if you wanted more access to the living room, Rory’s bedroom, and kitchen on the first floor.
If you want to add your own elements, the brand claims these pieces are compatible with “major building brick brands” (potentially LEGO). That means you could try designing your own LEGO Custom Minifigures to look like Lorelai and Rory to fit inside this space.
As a LEGO collector and builder, I’m often tempted by sets inspired by shows I love—especially when those shows don’t have official LEGO sets of their own. Case in point: A few years ago, I caved and bought this Taylor Swift “Lover” house.
I could often tell the difference in quality between these lesser-known brands: They don’t usually have the same feel, can be harder to snap together, and sometimes have small gaps between the bricks. That being said, for non-LEGO collectors or casual builders, they tend to be fine alternatives—and you’ll likely be so happy with the charming end result, the smaller details might not matter as much. (Full disclosure: I haven’t tried building this Gilmore House yet, but it’s officially on my list!)
If you want official LEGO versions of your favorite Stars Hollow landmarks (as I do!), there’s a fan-built idea set of Luke’s Diner that’s currently in need of votes. Once it reaches 10,000 supporters, it will be submitted for official consideration. In the meantime, this Gilmore House is a great option and would make a perfect holiday gift for a huge fan.
