As a fashion editor based in New York City, I’m always on the hunt for affordable ways to refresh my wardrobe—and Old Navy’s designer collaborations never miss. After the buzz around last year’s Anna Sui collection, the retailer is back with a new partnership featuring Christopher John Rogers, an American fashion designer known for his vibrant colors and playful, statement-making silhouettes. Naturally, I had to see if this latest drop lives up to the hype.

The collection is brimming with bold (but still wearable!) pieces—think statement scarves, structured denim, and striped matching sets. Prices range from $25 to $85, and sizes span from XS to 4XL. I got the chance to try out the collection first-hand before its official April 15 launch, and I can confirm that it’s even cuter in person. Keep reading for my full review.
Outfit 1: The matching set
Chartreuse is the unofficial “it” color of spring 2026, so I had to try this vibrant two-piece set. The Denim Chore Jacket feels more expensive than it is, with a soft, medium-weight cotton fabric, four functional patch pockets, and a cinched waist that creates a flattering shape—and I loved its washed, slightly worn-in effect.
The Baggy Wide-Leg Jeans impressed me just as much, thanks to the high-quality denim and bold yellow-green hue. Plus, the silhouette hits at the perfect length on my 5’5” frame. That said, there is some noticeable waist gapping—so I’d style it with a belt; they fit more high-rise than mid-rise on me.
Outfit 2: The halter dress
Next, I tried the Halter Basque Waist dress in a fiery coral-red color. It’s made with cotton fabric and a touch of spandex for stretch, which feels crisp and lightweight. I immediately fell in love with the romantic Basque silhouette and plunging halter neckline—it’s perfect for a date night or even a casual daytime wedding. Plus, the bodice is double-lined and has a stretchy smocked panel at the back, so it gives me ample chest support. My only complaint was that the fabric is on the thinner side, so I wish the skirt had an extra layer for structure.
I paired it with the Canvas Tote in Magnolia, which is made of thick canvas and holds its shape well. It has a clever convertible design, so you can fold in the sides for a streamlined look. It also has an inner slip pocket for easy access to your keys and cards.
Outfit 3: The bold stripes
Christopher John Rogers is known for its iconic stripe motifs, making the Keyhole Sweater a testament to the brand’s heritage. I appreciate how it features a rainbow of colors—including chartreuse—making it easy to mix and match with other pieces in the collection. The ribbed cotton-blend fabric feels soft and substantial without being too heavy for spring. I’m also obsessed with the keyhole cutout in the back (shown below)—it’s such a fun detail, and you could even wear it backwards to show off some décolletage after-hours.
Outfit 4: The statement scarf
Finally, this elevated jeans-and-tank combo is my favorite outfit from the whole collection, and it’s all thanks to the Satin Scarf. It measures about 35 by 35 inches, so it’s big enough to tie in a bunch of different ways. I opted for the Green Dots colorway and draped it around my waist for a pop of pattern.
The scarf paired seamlessly with different pieces from the collection, including the wide-legged jeans and the Racerback Tank in Navy. This cotton-blend tank has a simple, easy-to-layer design and is more form-fitting than other pieces in the collection. Plus, the subtle, stitched logo at the chest kept it from feeling too basic.
Final thoughts
I can confirm that Old Navy has knocked it out of the park, yet again, with this designer collab. From a design perspective, I appreciated how the collection stayed true to CJR’s bold, maximalist aesthetic while still feeling wearable and easy to style. It definitely helped me step out of my comfort zone by experimenting with color, and I’m excited to wear these pieces with pieces from my wardrobe.
Given that every item is under $100, I felt that the fabric quality and construction exceeded my expectations—though I’d have to wear them for longer to see how they hold up over time. One thing to keep in mind? Old Navy runs large in my experience, so I sized down in almost every piece (except for the jeans) for a proper fit. I expect this collection to sell out fast, so I’d recommend adding your favorite picks to cart ASAP while they’re still in stock.
