Attention, home chefs: There's a new cookware recall you should know about—especially if you frequently cook dinner on the stovetop. Here's what you need to know.
What, exactly, is being recalled?
On April 2, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) published a recall notice for Granitestone Diamond Pro Blue Sauté Pans, specifically its Granitestone Diamond Pro Blue stainless steel sauté pans. The sauté pans, the CPSC notice explained, were sold in a two-piece set with one pan measuring 10 inches and the other pan measuring 11.5 inches. The pans also have the UPC number 0-80313-08131-6 printed on the packaging.
The recall includes about 740,000 units of the product—which were sold in stores at Costco and online at Costco.com, Walmart.com, and Amazon.com. The pans were sold between August 2021 and February 2026 for about $40. (You likely already know about the recall if you are a Costco member, as the warehouse store sent out its own notice to anyone who recently purchased the pans.)
Why are these pans being recalled?
The notice explained that the pans were recalled due to the fact that metal cap on the screw that connects the sauté pan to the handle "can become detached and forcefully eject when heated, posing impact and burn hazards to consumers."
The company that makes the pans, E Mishan, is aware of at least "98 incidents where the metal cap detached and ejected from the pan, including one report where a consumer received bruising and burn injuries."
What should I do if I have these pans in my kitchen?
If you have this pan set in your kitchen, the CSPS says it's important to stop using it immediately. You may then contact E Mishan for a full refund. Please note, you will be asked to physically return the recalled sauté pans to obtain the refund, so do not throw them out before contacting the company. Customers who purchased the pans will soon be able to submit their refund claim at gsrecall.com. Those looking for additional assistance can also call the company directly at 1 (888) 230-6698.
