It always surprises people when I tell them my favorite bedding of the last few years is under $20.

As an analyst, I've spent over four years testing the hundreds of bedding products that have come through the Good Housekeeping Institute Textiles Lab, and I have to admit that price doesn't always indicate quality. Some of the most expensive products we’ve evaluated—I'm talking $1,000 sheets or $8,000 comforters—were only marginally better than far more affordable options.

When it comes to throw blankets, they really can run the gamut from $10 to $10,000. And truthfully, a good throw blanket is easy to find, however a great throw blanket can be a bit more elusive. Even after testing all kinds of expensive throws in the Lab, my all-time favorite is still this gorgeous ribbed throw blanket from Bedsure.

It's blown away our team of experts and at-home testers so much that we've named it a winner in our 2026 Good Housekeeping Bedding Awards (another year in a row!), and it's even earned the Good Housekeeping Seal.

What's so special about it?

As I mentioned, I've tested a lot of throw blankets, but what makes this one stand out is its ribbed design, lightweight feel, and insanely soft (yet velvety) fabric, which doesn't shed fibers all over your sofa or bed. Some faux-fur throws can also feel overly heavy, so I love how light this one is, though some may find it a bit thin.

Our testers agreed: One said, "It's the perfect, quintessential throw blanket, but it's also a little different from your typical sherpa throw blanket. The wide ribbed look is stunning and looks gorgeous on my bed."

"The vertical detailing adds a special touch to this super-soft design," says Monique Valeris, home design director at Good Housekeeping. "[It's] an easy way to introduce more texture into a space and make it feel cozier."

In our evaluations, the lofty material washed easily, without losing any of its fluffiness. At home, recent testers gave it perfect scores and a few even dubbed it their "new favorite blanket." Several called it "incredibly soft," and one described it as "comforting to sleep under each night." Another shared, "It's now my go-to for snuggling on the couch, and I want to buy it in every color." It's also become a favorite of several of our testers' pets, including cats and dogs who "curl up on it whenever [they] have the chance," noted a tester.

I love that it's available in nine sizes, ranging from a standard throw all the way up to an oversized King size (120" x 120"), so you can find one that suits any type of bed, chair, or sofa. It also comes in 30 different colors to match virtually any home aesthetic.

At home, I keep the most popular style (the throw in off white) on my couch, and the Queen-size version in Lavender Fog drapes my bed. And while I certainly have plenty of other options at my disposal, I haven't rotated or cycled in any other blankets since.
