Every fall, Amazon quietly drops some of the year’s best Apple deals. Since Apple just released AirPods 5—the first entry-level Apple AirPods with noise cancellation—our editors have been watching for Prime Big Deal Days discounts on other models. And trust us, the deals don’t disappoint: AirPods are up to $120 off for a limited time. When October Prime Day ends tonight, these deals will most likely disappear.
SHOP THE BEST OCTOBER PRIME DAY DEALS
Our tech experts at the Good Housekeeping Institute have tested dozens of headphones and earbuds over the years. Yet we most often reach for our AirPods for their top-notch sound quality and superb noise cancellation.
While we think these headphones are a worthy buy at full price, it’s always nice to score them on sale—and as part of Amazon’s October Prime Day deals, both the AirPods Pro 3 and the AirPods Max 2 are deeply discounted.
WHY WE LOVE IT: Per Senior Reviews Writer and Analyst Olivia Lipski, the AirPods Pro 3 are the most versatile earbuds Apple offers, complete with even better sound quality, noise cancellation, and battery life compared to previous generations. Plus, Apple redesigned them for a snugger, more comfortable fit. They’re also more sweat- and water-resistant.
You also get heart-rate sensing via the Apple Fitness app, so you no longer need to wear an Apple Watch to read your heart rate, plus a Live Translation feature that Lipski found surprisingly accurate while testing in her bilingual home.
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW: At $179, these top-tested AirPods are just $10 off their record-low price. We generally think these are a good buy any time they drop below $200, so this $70 price cut is definitely worth taking advantage of.

Apple AirPods Max 2
WHY WE LOVE IT: When Apple released the AirPods Max 2 earlier this year, Lipski was impressed by the improvements to Active Noise Cancellation, which Apple claims is now 1.5x more effective. They also feature Apple’s H2 chip, which enables useful new features like Adaptive Audio, Conversation Awareness, Voice Isolation, and Live Translation.
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW: The AirPods Max 2 are Apple’s priciest AirPods, so it’s worth jumping on any discount you can find! While this isn’t the lowest price we’ve seen (that would be $399 from this summer’s Prime Day), we’d recommend taking advantage of this rare $120 price cut on these souped-up headphones. Just note that these tend to sell out when they’re on sale!
