On April 13, ABC announced major news about The Rookie's future. Sharing a video of Nathan and Lisseth Chavez (who portrays Celina Juarez) on Instagram, the network revealed that The Rookie had been renewed for season 9.
“You're going to want to buckle up for this one 😏,” the caption read alongside the clip. “#TheRookie will return for a new season!”
Naturally, fans were ecstatic about the idea of a new installment.
