Gilmore Girls aired on The WB for seven seasons, and the show had a 2016 Netflix spinoff.
Actress Lauren Graham made a rare comment about actress Alexis Bledel playing Rory Gilmore in an interview with People.
Lauren Graham has something to say about her former Gilmore Girls co-star, Alexis Bledel.
The duo famously portrayed Lorelai and Rory Gilmore on the WB series and its 2016 Netflix reboot, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. They reunited at the 2025 Emmys, but Lauren hasn’t really talked about working with Alexis—until now.
When Lauren caught up with People on behalf of her partnership with Bob’s Red Mill, the outlet asked what it was like to work with Alexis on the hit drama. This led Lauren to heap loads of praise onto Alexis.
“To me, the mark of a wonderful actor is like you can’t imagine anybody else in the part, and I can’t imagine anybody else,” she told the publication in an interview published on September 27. “I can’t imagine anybody else as my partner for all those years.”
Lauren also noted that the cast and crew of Gilmore Girls became incredibly close throughout filming—something people continue to enjoy when rewatching past episodes.
“I think it’s something people really love about the show, which is you’re entering this fun world where everybody knows each other, everyone is looking out for each other, and it’s a small community,” she added. “We all kind of love the nostalgia of that and crave that.”
Lauren will likely have much more to say when the Gilmore Girls documentary premieres on HBO Max in the next few months. As she told Extra when walking the red carpet for Variety’s 2026 Power of Women event, she’s excited to share new tidbits that haven’t been revealed until now.
“It’s surprisingly emotional, and I think there’s a lot that fans [haven’t] heard before,” she noted in a video posted on YouTube on September 23.
We love this!
