Gilmore Girls is the subject of a new HBO Max documentary.

Fans got a first look at the film in a behind-the-scenes selfie from Danny Strong (Doyle McMaster) and Liza Weil (Paris Geller).

Lauren Graham (Lorelai Gilmore) and Amy Sherman-Palladino will also participate in the documentary.

Gilmore Girls fans, two of your favorites just reunited for the best reason.

As longtime viewers anticipate the upcoming HBO Max documentary about the show, Danny Strong (who played Doyle McMaster) dropped the best surprise on Instagram. Posing for a selfie with co-star Liza Weil (who played Paris Geller), he revealed that the two participated in the documentary and shared their memories of working together on Gilmore Girls.

“Always magical spending time with my TV ex-wifey, but who knew that all these years later we’d be reunited to talk about our early days together for an HBO documentary,” he wrote on October 23. “How lucky am I to have worked with the comic genius @lizaweil. Nothing makes me happier than seeing her joyous spirit. #parisndoyle4ever (even in divorce!).”

Since this is the first look at what’s to come, fans were emotional to see Danny and Liza side by side again.

“All is right in the world 🤍🫶🥹,” one person wrote in the comments. “Looks like co-parenting is going well! Thank you for thinking of us crazy gg fans,” another penned, referencing Paris and Doyle’s divorce in Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. “Iconicccccc,” a different follower added.

Liza appeared on Gilmore Girls throughout the show’s seven-season run. Danny first appeared in season 4, playing the editor of the Yale Daily News; Doyle and Paris’ relationship spanned the rest of the series. And as fans learned, the fictional couple had divorced by the time the Netflix reboot aired in late 2016.

Lauren Graham (who played Lorelai Gilmore) and co-creator Amy Sherman-Palladino will also participate in the HBO documentary.

We’re excited to see who else is in!
